Temporary Arrangement of Shatin Rural Committee Road
with Alternative Routes
(Implementation Period: 00:01am to 07:00am on 24 March 2024)


Date: 18 March 2024

In order to facilitate the construction works under “Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, the following traffic directions via Shatin Rural Committee Road would be prohibited from 00:01am to 07:00am on 24 March 2024 for construction of new interchange.

During the works period, affected vehicles are required to take the alternative routes:

  1. From Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Northbound) to Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) and vice versa. (refer to the attached Figure 1)
  2. From Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Southbound) to Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) and vice versa. (refer to the attached Figure 2)
  1. Ban Turning
    1. From 00:01am to 07:00am, All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound onto the slip road leading from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin northbound
    2. From 00:01am to 07:00am, All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from the slip road leading from Tai Po Road – Sha Tin northbound onto Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound.
    3. From 01:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m, all vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) onto slip road leading from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) to Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Southbound).
    4. From 01:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m, all vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from the slip road leading from Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound onto Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound.
  2. Traffic Diversion
    1. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) towards Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) → Pai Tau Street → Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) → Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Northbound);
    2. Vehicles on Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Northbound) towards Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) → Pai Tau Street → Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound);
    3. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) towards Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Southbound) will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road (Southbound) → Tam Kon Po Street (Westbound) → Sha Tin Centre Street (Northbound) → Wang Pok Street (Eastbound) → Yuen Wo Road (Northbound) → Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) → Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Southbound);
    4. Vehicles on Tai Po Road–Sha Tin (Southbound) towards Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) → Yuen Wo Road (Southbound) → Tam Kon Po Street (Westbound) → Sha Tin Centre Street (Northbound) → Wang Pok Street (Eastbound) → Yuen Wo Road (Northbound) → Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound);

    During the diversion period, appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists in the above mentioned location.
