Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on
Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin with Alternative Routes
(Implementation Period: 1 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 20 & 22 September 2024)


Date: 12 September 2024

In order to facilitate the construction works under “Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, temporary traffic and transport arrangements on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road would be implemented from 1 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 20 & 22 September 2024 for switch over of traffic lights on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road.

During the construction period, vehicles on the affected carriageways will be temporarily banned from turning. All vehicles shall take the alternative routes to their destinations with the following temporary traffic arrangements (refer to the attached Figure):

  1. Ban Turning
    1. All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound onto the slip road leading from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Northbound)
    2. All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from the slip road leading from Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Northbound) onto Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound)
    3. All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) onto the slip road leading from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Southbound)
    4. All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from the slip road leading from Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Southbound) onto Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound)
  2. Traffic Diversion
    1. Affected vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) heading for Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Northbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound), Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Northbound)
    2. Affected vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Northbound) heading for Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound), Pai Tau Street to Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound)
    3. Affected vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) heading for Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Southbound) will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road (Southbound), Tam Kon Po Street (Westbound), Sha Tin Centre Street (Northbound), Wang Pok Street (Eastbound), Yuen Wo Road (Northbound), Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Southbound)
    4. Affected vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Section (Southbound) heading for Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound), Yuen Wo Road (Southbound), Tam Kon Po Street (Westbound), Sha Tin Centre Street (Northbound), Wang Pok Street (Eastbound), Yuen Wo Road (Northbound) to Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound)

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists in the above-mentioned location during the temporary road diversion.
