Opening of New Interchange of Shatin Rural Committee Road
(Implementation Date: 24 March 2024 (Sunday))

The new interchange of Shatin Rural Committee Road near Shatin MTR Station is scheduled to be commenced on 24 March 2024 (Sunday).

The original traffic junction has 4 slip roads while the modified traffic junction will have six slip roads. The new junction contains a bus exclusive lane to facilitate buses to reach the bus terminal at Sha Tin New Town Plaza directly. The new junction allows free flow of traffic turning to Pau Tai Street from Tai Po Road northbound and turning to Yuen Wo Road from Tai Po Road Southbound. Please refer to the attached Figure 1 for details.

The existing two signalized junctions would be combined into one. The traffic light arrangement would be controlled by a 4 phase of traffic signals at the new junction (see Figure 2 for the traffic light staging). The modified junction of Shatin Rural Committee Road will facilitate traffic exiting Tai Po Road strategic road to Shatin town center smoothly.
