Temporary Closure of Traffic Lane of Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) near Sha Tin Station towards Tai Po with Alternative Route

(Implementation Period: 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on on 7, 12 & 15 March 2024)

In order to facilitate the construction works under “Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, carriageway of Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) towards Tai Po & Fo Tan and the slip road leading from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) would be temporarily closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on 7, 12 & 15 March 2024 for a series of work, including demolition existing bridge, road reconstruction and road sign painting.

During the construction period, the affected carriageway will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. All vehicles shall take the alternative routes to Tai Po and Fo Tan with the following temporary traffic arrangements (refer to the attached Figure):

1. Ban Turning
   
   1. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound)
   2. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making left turn movement from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound)
2. Traffic Diversion
   
   1. VVehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) towards Tolo Highway will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound), Yuen Wo Road (Northbound), Sha Tin Road (Northbound) and Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound)
   2. Vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound) towards Fo Tan Road will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) and Yuen Wo Road (Northbound)
   3. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) towards Tolo Highway will be diverted via Pai Tau Street , Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) , Yuen Wo Road (Northbound) , Sha Tin Road (Northbound) and Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound)
   4. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Westbound) towards Fo Tan Road will be diverted via Pai Tau Street , Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) and Yuen Wo Road (Northbound)
   5. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) towards Tolo Highway will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road (Northbound), Sha Tin Road (Northbound) and Tai Po Road – Sha Tin (Northbound)
   6. Vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road (Eastbound) towards Fo Tan Road will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road (Northbound)

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists in the above mentioned location during the temporary road diversion.
