Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)
Temporary Speed Limit on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)
Date: 10 June 2019
To facilitate the construction of the “Road widening and retrofitting noise barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section)” project, we have implemented Stage 1 Speed Limit Reduction at Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) between Wai Wah Centre and Wo Che Estate since 9th April 2019. To cope with the construction programme, we will further implement Stage 2 Speed Limit Reduction at the above road (northbound and southbound) from Wo Che Estate extending to near Fo Tan Road (see attached Layout Plan). Speed limit will be temporarily reduced from currently 80km/hr to 50km/hr between 18 June 2019 and 27 December 2023. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.
The above temporary speed limit arrangement has been endorsed by relevant Government departments and will be published in Government Notice issued by Transport Department later.
